Welcome to Our Virtual Classroom

We are a Kindergarten class from Sunny Florida, and we love to learn and have fun. Our classroom is centered around four C's, Courtesy, Compassion, Creativity, and Confidence. We are not only striving to be successful learners, but we are focusing on being kind and caring to others. We have many exciting plans for the fall season, and we can not wait to get started.

Guesstimation Jar

In math we are starting learn about estimation.  In order to help the students grasp this concept we are calling it guesstimation.  This new term makes it easier to remember that when we estimate we are simply guessing.  To emphasize this concept, I will be sending an empty jar home with each of your students on Wednesday, September 6th.  I would like for you and your child to fill the jar up with an object, like marbles, m&ms, buttons, gumballs, cotton balls, cotton swabs, etc, and send the jar back to school with your child.  Make sure you include the number of objects that are in the jar,  I encourage you to count the objects with your child as you put them in the jar.  This will give your student the practice he/she needs with counting.   Once all the jars are returned back to school, we will use one or two every day for the next week to practice estimation.  As always I want to thank you for your support and participation in your child’s education.
